Hand-Painted Zhostovo Trays!

This beautiful tray was hand-painted in Russia in Zhostovo style. It will brighten any kitchen and impress your guests when you serve finger-foods on this little heart shaped (About 6 3/4" x 6 1/4") decorative metal tray.

Russian Zhostovo has been a tradition for over 200 years. Known for its magnificent "blooming" flowers against a dark background (usually black), artists paint several layers to achieve a more three-dimensional feel. This particular lacquered tray features a deep red background. Russian serving platters such as these, also almost always have a golden border. Some borders are more detailed than others, and some have silver in the border as well, like the one pictured above.
